The Roybal Corporation was contracted to design a new tour route and joining structure to support the very popular guided tour of the United States Mint in Denver, Colorado. The design includes an updated entry area to streamline security and staging before the tour. New interior finishes and configuration open up the existing space to allow for a longer tour with visibility to more of the Mint’s processes as well as additional room for new exhibits along the route.

A new adjoining structure was designed to provide a new exit point from the tour with a larger assembly space for tour groups to gather before exiting the tour. This secured structure joins the existing tour route building with the existing gift shop, solving the current issue of guests having to walk around the exterior of the Mint to access the gift shop after the tour. The new enclosure is designed of structural glass to provide full height visibility and prevent competition with the registered historic structures of the US Mint.
