Lena Lovato Archuleta Elementary will serve the growing northeast Denver communities near Denver International Airport. The school is located adjacent to a park and other community facilities. In addition to the 25 classrooms provided, the program also features a full set of development of athletic and playground amenities on a 10.5 acre site.
The innovative design solution provides a state- of-the-art learning environment for children in early childhood education through the 5th grade. The building arranges learning classrooms in clusters for each grade around a common “Instructional Materials Center”. Circulation is organized around a large volume, skylighted great hall. The great hall is the central circulation spine that links the classroom groups to common areas and assists children and visitors in orienting themselves within the building.
